Kamineni Hospitals performs a rare complex surgery on 65years old lady who developed large hole in the heart due to heart attack
Hyderabad 10th April, 2010. Immediately the patient was shifted to ICCU where the patient was detected to have developed a hole in the ventricular septum. We immediately inserted the Intra Aortic balloon pump to stabilize the patient and performed an angiogram. We found the left sided artery was totally blocked and a large hole in the heart was confirmed. We immediately suggested cardiac surgery for the patient.”
Addressing the media Dr.Sameer Diwale Consultant Cardiovascular Surgeon said- “after confirming the diagnosis we explained the patient’s family about the condition of the patient and that she required, surgical intervention immediately to close the hole, before she developed further complications like kidney failure/ liver failure, and irreversible heart failure. The surgery was performed with the latest technique of “infarct exclusion” using Heart Lung machine. Due to quick decision making on everyone’s part and surgical expertise the outcome of the surgery was very successful and the patient recovered well.”
Adding further Dr.Sunil Kumar Chief Operating Officer said “ we are also glad to inform you that the our cardiac surgery team led by Dr.Sameer Diwale has experience of more than 8000 surgeries with a very high success rate and negligible use of blood transfusion even in most complex surgeries. 4th February 2010: the word Cancer, the fatal disease in the world, according to an estimate nearly 35 lakh patients in India are affected with this deadly disease and nearly 9 lakh new patients are getting added every year posing a great challenge and threat to the medical fraternity.
